Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 October 2026
Corporate Pulse ("we", "our" or "us"), a Shobi Group publication, runs a digital news platform that publishes news, explainers and guides on HR, payroll, labour compliance, taxation, finance and business in India. Readers can create an account, subscribe for full access, comment on articles and hear about events. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect your information when you use our website and mobile application.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and handle personal data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable Indian laws. By using Corporate Pulse, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only what we need to run the service:
- Account information: your name, email address, mobile number (confirmed with a one-time code), and your password, which is stored only in an irreversibly scrambled (hashed) form that nobody can read.
- Profile and activity: an optional profile photo, the comments you post, the articles you like, your email preferences, and the dates you joined and subscribed.
- Event registrations: when you register for an event, your name, email address, mobile number, company name and designation, your ticket reference, and when your ticket is used at the entrance. You do not need an account to register.
- Subscription and payment information: your plan, subscription dates, payment status, transaction ID and amount. We do not see or store your card, UPI or bank details: payments are processed by Razorpay, a secure third-party payment gateway.
- Device and technical information: your IP address and browser type, used to keep accounts secure (for example, to limit repeated sign-in attempts and to tell you when your account is used on a new device), and server logs.
- Reading statistics: we count how many times each article is opened to show "Most read" lists. These counts are anonymous and are not linked to you.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Account management: create and run your account, confirm your mobile number, and provide support.
- Subscriptions: give subscribers access to all articles and documents, process payments and keep transaction records.
- Communication: send account emails (welcome, sign-in alerts for a new device, password resets, changes to your mobile number), receipts and subscription reminders, and, unless you turn them off, emails about events.
- Community: show your name and photo next to the comments you post.
- Events: register you for events, email your entry ticket, and give the organiser the guest list so they can check tickets at the entrance.
- Security: protect accounts, prevent fraud and misuse, and enforce our Terms of Use.
- Improving the service: understand which content is useful, using anonymous article counts.
- Legal compliance: meet tax, accounting and other legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone, and we do not show advertising based on your data.
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We share information only in these circumstances:
- Service providers: trusted partners who help us run the platform, such as our payment gateway (Razorpay), email and SMS delivery providers, and cloud hosting and storage providers. They may use the information only to provide their service to us.
- Event organisers: when you register for an event, your registration details (name, email address, mobile number, company, designation and ticket) are shared with that event's organiser so they can manage entry. Organisers may use them only for that event.
- Other readers: your name and profile photo are visible next to comments you post. Your email and mobile number are never shown.
- Legal requirements: when required by law, regulation or legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Corporate Pulse, our readers or others.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, where information may be transferred as part of the transaction.
All service providers are contractually required to keep your information confidential and secure.
4. Children's Privacy
Corporate Pulse is intended for people aged 18 or older. Users under 18 may use Corporate Pulse only with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without such consent. If you believe a child has created an account without it, please contact us and we will delete it.
5. Data Security
We take reasonable security measures to protect your information:
- Encryption in transit: the website is served over HTTPS, so information between your device and our servers is encrypted.
- Passwords: stored only as salted hashes; repeated wrong passwords temporarily lock the account.
- Access control: only authorised team members can use the editorial and admin tools, and each can do only what their role allows.
- Account alerts: we email you when your account is used on a new device and when your mobile number changes.
- Event tickets: each QR ticket holds only a long random code, not your personal details; it admits one person once, and only a scrambled form of the code is stored.
- Backups: the database and uploaded files are backed up regularly.
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, but we keep improving our safeguards to protect your information.
6. Data Retention
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is open or as needed to provide the service. Payment and invoice records are kept for as long as tax and accounting laws require.
When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal information, except where we must keep it for legal compliance, fraud prevention or to resolve disputes. Comments you posted are removed with your account.
7. Your Rights and Choices
You have control over your information and can:
- Access: ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: update your name, mobile number and photo on your account page, or ask us to correct anything else.
- Deletion: ask us to permanently delete your account and associated data.
- Consent withdrawal: withdraw consent where we rely on it.
- Opt-out: turn off event emails at any time on your account page. Emails about your account and subscription are always sent.
- Grievance: raise a complaint about how your data is handled with our Grievance Officer (section 12).
To exercise these rights, email support@mytezt.com from the email address on your account. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Account Deletion Requests
To delete your account, email support@mytezt.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". We may need to confirm your identity first. Once confirmed, we will delete your account and associated personal data within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements, and let you know when it is done. Deleting your account ends any subscription; see our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
9. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies and similar browser storage that the site needs to work:
- Sign-in cookie: keeps you signed in.
- Device cookie: remembers that you have signed in on this browser before, so we only send sign-in alerts for new devices.
- Session storage: avoids counting the same article view twice.
We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, but you will then need to sign in again and the site may not work fully.
10. Where Your Data Is Processed
Your data is stored on secure cloud servers in India. Some service providers (for example, for email delivery) may process information outside India. Where this happens, we use providers that protect it with appropriate safeguards and contracts, as permitted by Indian law.
11. Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements or regulatory guidance. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. We will tell you about important changes by email or on the website.
